Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Kumar Das who played a brilliant 70-run knock in Bangladesh’s first innings where the side were all out for just 147 runs, believes they are still in the game.
“The match has not ended yet. We are still in the game. If we bat well [Sunday] then nobody knows what will happen,” said Liton during the post-day press conference after day two. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ “আমরা দ্বিতীয় ইনিংসে ৬০০ করতে পারি”]
He added on the same, “Nobody expects such results from us. We are definitely a better team than this. But many things happen in cricket. You have to admit that.”
Liton who scored a notable 70 off 77 balls with 13 fours, hopeful of a strong comeback in the third day as he believes someone among the Bangladeshi batsmen can score a double hundred in the second innings and that will lead them to a big total.
“Our target is big now. We are in the backfoot. We will try to play better. Maybe someone from us can score a double hundred from this position. We can score 600 in the second innings. Nothing is impossible. Then they will have to bat again. We are hoping of something like this,” he concluded.
