Live: Sri Lanka score rich total in series decider

In the series deciding third and final one day international match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, host Sri Lanka has managed to pile up an enriched total of 280 runs for the loss of 9 wickets after the Tigers sent them to bat first at Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo.

Skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza led the team from the front taking 3 wickets while youngster Mustafizur Rahman equally supported the captain, claiming 2 for himself.

The fiery opening stand of 76 runs in 65 balls between Gunathilaka and Upal Tharanga has at last been extricated by Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Youngster Mustafizur Rahman hunted his second victim in the match in the 45th over. It’s the cutter again that did the trick for the young pacer; Prasanna tried to hit the ball, the extra bounce of the cutter led to miscue the shot and Mahmudullah Riyad gripped a wonderful catch in the extra-cover after observing it carefully for a long time.

Sri Lanka lost 2 more wickets in the last over of the match; Tiger skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, although conceded 65 runs in his 10 overs, captured 3 important wickets, 2 of which in the 50th over, restricted the home team below three hundred marks.

In the second delivery of the fiftieth over, Dilruwan Perera, after producing a quick fire 15 runs was caught by Tamim Iqbal at the extra-cover and the fifth delivery of the last over, Thisara Perera, after producing a wonderful knock of 52 runs (40 balls) was caught by Taskin Ahmed in the short fine leg, both off the delivery of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
