Tanvir recently played in the PSL (Pakistan Super League) play-offs where he played for Multan Sultans. He came to Sri Lanka to play for Kandy Tuskers while 32-year-old Ravinderpal was bought by Colombo Kings. The participation of both players are subject to recovery.

However, Kandy Tuskers are already in search of a replacement for the Pakistani international. “We have to talk to the franchise owners and find somebody to replace Tanvir,” Hashan Tillakaratne, Kandy head coach, told ESPNcricinfo.

Tanvir was drafted into Kandy squad as a replacement. His compatriot Wahab Riaz and Englishman Liam Plunkett earlier pulled out of the Kandy Tuskers squad.

Ravinderpal was en route to Sri Lanka with other players including Andre Russell. The LPL organisers confirmed that Ravinderpal has been isolated from other members.

“[Singh] has been sent for treatment at another hotel in the area, which has been set up like a hospital,” said Anil Mohan, CEO of the IPG Group company, which is organising the LPL. “He is not at the same hotel as the others, and they are all in their bubble. The others will be training and preparing for the tournament as usual.”

The inaugural edition of LPL kicks off on November 26 with the first match being Colombo vs Kandy. The five-team tournament will end on December 16. All the matches will be held in Hambantota.

Earlier, several players had withdrawn from the tournament. West Indian star Chris Gayle and local legend Lasith Malinga have also pulled out.
