Mahmudullah receives major injury shock, BCB hopeful of WC participation
In a recent MRI report shows a grade-3 tear on his shoulder, the report was confirmed by the cricketer and an official on Monday.
Cricbuzz quoted a BCB official saying the kind of injury often requires surgical process for complete healing.
”We received the MRI report of Mahmudullah today and it reveals he had a grade- three tear. We have recommended him rest for 15 days and later we will start his rehabilitation program,”
the officials said.
The injury that was inflicted a few months back, had been aggravated during the first Test against New Zealand when he dived in the field twice.
The BCB official, therefore, said they will undergo through conservative treatment and surgery would be the last resort to heal the injury.
”We will follow conservative treatment process and if that fails to heal him than we might need operation,” he said.
”He can do his fitness training but we advised that he should not have any session that can force him to take some kind of a load. This injury is quite similar to the one that Mustafizur received but in most cases it becomes a major concern for pace bowlers. So we are hoping that he will recover with conservative treatment,” the BCB official said.
On the back of BCB’s high hopes for the batsman being available in the World Cup, Mahmudullah seemed quite tormented following the incident.
”I am not well,” Mahmudullah told while talking to Cricbuzz in Mirpur.
‘The injury is quite similar to the one that Mustafiz had so I may need an operation if it is not healed properly,” he said.
