Hosts St Lucia were bowled out for 69 runs in just 12.3 overs, marking the third-lowest total and shortest innings in CPL T20. They hit the highest CPL total – 226/6 against Barbados Tridents in their previous match.

Spinners Mahmudullah, Sandeep Lamichhane and seamer Sheldon Cottrell ripped through the St Lucia batting order after electing to bowl first. Cottrell picked 3 for 24. Lamichhane, the Nepalese leggie, bagged 2 for 13.

Mahmudullah took the wickets of Rahkeem Cornwall and Lendl Simmons in his 4 overs including a maiden. Only David Warner (14) and Qais Ahmed (24) could register double-figure score.

It took only 7.4 overs for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to reach the target to seal a comfortable seven-wicket victory. Skipper Chris Gayle didn’t come out to bat. Devon Thomas hit 21-ball unbeaten 38 runs including 5 fours and 2 sixes after being promoted up in the order. Evin Lewis and Brandon King scored 13 and 17 respectively.

Cottrell was eventually named Player of the Match for his 3-for.

St Kitts and Nevis have earned a huge boost in Net Run Rate following this victory. They are now placed fourth on the points table with four points from four games.
