Mahmudullah to go to Pakistan, but for only one-dayer

Bangladesh shortest format captain Mahmudullah Riyad has withdrawn him from the decision of not visiting in the third phase of Pakistan tour. He has informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that he is also going to visit Pakistan this time.

Mahmudullah to play ODIs in Pakistan but unavailable for Test

Earlier, Mahmudullah had informed BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu that he wouldn’t play the ODI against Pakistan. At that time, he said, the reason was that his decision to stay with the conscience wife.

His wife is expected to give birth during her third visit to Pakistan in early April.

But this time Mahmudullah has withdrawn his decision. He will be in the squad in the only one-dayer against Pakistan. Not only that, he can serve as captain if there is no Mashrafe.

About this, Mahmudullah said,

“I will go to Pakistan in April. I will return home after playing ODIs. However, I told the board with the letter – I will not be in the Test. At that time our second child will come to earth. It is important to be with family at such a special moment.”

Bangladesh will play the only one-dayer against Pakistan on April 3. The two sides will then face the second Test of the series on April 5-9.
