Malik to leave for England on August 15
Pakistan’s T20 mission against England will begin soon after the ongoing Test series. Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, a T20 specialist, did not go to England at first to spend time with his family.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also gave him permission. Now he has to overcome the coronavirus-barrier to join the team in Southampton. If he’s negative in two tests, then he can go to England.
The Test series between Pakistan and England is going on now. The T20 series will start after that. The limited-overs series will begin in Manchester on August 28 in a germ-protected environment.
Therefore, PCB wants to send Malik to England on August 15.
“The PCB is planning to fly-out T20 specialist Shoaib Malik to Southampton on 15 August, provided he returns two negative Covid-19 tests as per the agreed protocols and processes,”
the Board said in a statement.
The first T20 of the series will be on August 28, the second on August 30 and the third and final T20 on September 1.
