After the Indian Premier League (IPL) got suspended due to the coronavirus, the wait for the cricket world to see MS Dhoni play again just got longer as he was set to return through this tournament. Due to the absence of the former captain for so many months, most of the people have already started to believe Dhoni will not play international cricket again.

However, Dhoni’s manager Mihir Diwakar has ruled out the thoughts.  He said the player is not thinking about retirement and he is determined to play in the upcoming IPL if it happens this year.

“Being friends, we don’t talk about his cricket. But looking at him, he’s not all thinking about retirement. He is very determined to play the IPL. He has worked really hard for this. If you remember he was there in Chennai one month in advance before everything was shut down,” he said.

The 39-year old also joined the CSK training camp on March 2, but eventually, the training camp ended too soon on March 14 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Though Dhoni was not seen on the field, he was spotted off the field several times on social media spending quality times with his family. He also performed army duties in Jammu and Kashmir during his long break from cricket.
