Manik Khan gets hattrick in opening day of DPL
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club’s pacer Manik Khan grabbed hattrick against BKSP in the opening day of the Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League at Fatullah.
PDSC and BKSP locked horns in the opening match of Group D where Manik Khan became the second bowler to grab hattrick on debut. The first one was Aliss Islam, who stunned everyone and picked up a hattrick for Dhaka Dynamites in this year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Manik picked up two wickets in the first over of BKSP’s innings. He picked up the wicket in the fifth and sixth ball of the over. Fahad Ahmed and Parvez Hossain were the victims. Then he came onto bowl the third over and picked up another wicket in the first over of the over to complete his hattrick.In Bangladesh, only Al-Amin Hossain and Aliss Al-Islam have picked up hattricks before him in T20s. However, he became the second Bangladeshi player to get a hattrick on debut.
Meanwhile, the match between PDSC and BKSP ended in a thrilling way as the match ended in a tie before the one-over eliminator. PDSC only managed to score 11 runs in their 20 overs. But they came back strongly with the ball and almost went onto defend the small total.
PDSC managed to tie the game and take the match to the one-over eliminator. In the end, it had to be only one winner and BKSP won the one-over eliminator.
Manik Khan becomes only third Bangladeshi bowler to take a hat-trick in T20s.
