Marriage is more important than cricket: Kohli

It needs no saying how much important cricket is for Indian captain Virat Kohli, but there is one thing that is even more important than the game of Cricket and for that he stayed on a break from Cricket for a while.

When India were playing series against Sri Lanka at home, Kohli tied the knot with his girlfriend Anushka Sharma in Italy. Though India didn’t feel Kohli’s absence as they won both the ODI and T20I series. After tying the knot on 11th December, the couple’s reception was held in Delhi and Mumbai where many cricketers and celebrities were present.

After all the ceremonies came to an end, Kohli is now back in the field and before leaving for the South Africa tour, during a press conference he said not only cricket, marriage is important in his life too.

“I took break from cricket from a reason which is even more important than cricket.  It was our best time together. You can say, the marriage was more important than cricket. But it won’t be difficult to be back in the game. Because cricket is in my blood. I can get used to it again.”

Kohli also informed even though he passed a busy time for his marriage, the South Africa tour was still always on his mind: “It is not like that I didn’t do anything in the past three weeks. I trained regularly alone. And, the South Africa series was always on my mind. So I am mentally prepared for the tour.”
