Last time before this match, Mashrafe played longer version cricket in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) 2013-14. Since then he played only 50-over and T20 game.

Mashrafe who last played for Bangladesh Test side back in 2009, is much happy with his performance in the opening fixture. He took 3 wickets in the 2nd innings of the match.

“I was in the field for whole 90 overs in the first day. Ability to survive in such a hot condition has surely encouraged me. I tried to bowl in accurate line and length although I bowled 4 no balls,” he concluded.
