National selector Habibul Bashar revealed Friday that Mortaza will have to go through the fitness test before Sri Lanka series.

“I think, he [Mortaza] is fit,” Habibul Bashar said.

“Mortaza’s fitness is upon himself. I think, he will need to give a fitness test. There are few concerns about him because he played the World cup with injury,”

he said.

“He has got some time to recover from that. I am hoping that he will be fit before the Sri Lanka series.”

Mashrafe bin Mortaza once hinted about his probable retirement once the World Cup will be over.

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has set for a vacation in Europe with family after the World Cup and is not confirmed whether he will take part in the forthcoming series or not.

Habibul Bashar said, “We are told to keep two options open and we have thought about that too. We haven’t got the final report yet. We are not sure about Shakib yet that whether he would make it or not. We have kept him as an option too.”

Bangladesh will play the first of the three-match ODI series on July 26 while the other two matches are scheduled for July 28 and 31 respectively.
