Mashrafe puts trust upon Tamim to make a good start

In the last T20I encounter against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh claimed a win and that was the also the last win of the Tigers in 7 T20I matches. Now prior to facing Sri Lanka in the first match of the shortest version series, Tiger skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza entrusted his confidence upon opener Tamim Iqbal to set a good spree for Bangladesh. “Batsmen play the major role in T20 matches. If Tamim could initiate a good start it would be easy for others to do their job” – said Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

Bangladesh shorter version captain also gets high on other performers of the team, “Of course Tamim Iqbal is there but we also have other match winners in the team. Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim also have the ability to turn things around for Bangladesh.”

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said Bangladesh needs more match winners who can single handedly win a match for the team, “We are improving day by day but yet to reach into the coveted position” – he said.

Last year, Bangladesh threw out Pakistan and Sri Lanka to reach into the final of T20I Asia Cup but then lost the momentum. Mashrafe said, “We have had a good opportunity in the World Cup after the success in the Asia Cup. Although we lost the match to India, I think we performed well.”
