Mashrafe requires 14 stitches to repair wound sustained in BPL game
In what comes as a big blow to Dhaka Platoon, Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza picked up a serious injury to his left palm while fielding for Dhaka Platoon against Khulna Tigers in the ongoing Bangabandhu BPL Twenty20 tourney at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka’s Mirpur on Saturday.
It was an unfortunate injury during the passage of play and the veteran needed as many as 14 stitches to have the wound sewed after cutting his palm during the game
Dhaka skipper Mashrafe Mortaza attempted to catch the ball at cover region after South African Rilee Rossouw smashed Mehidi Hasan delivery hard in the 11th over during their successful run-chase of a colossal 206 for a win.
After sustaining the injury, Mortaza, with signs of pain, had to walk off the field. However, he did not return to action.
After the match, their representative by the name of Enamul Haque added that Mashrafe Mortaza cut his left palm.
Manager Ahsanullah Hasan later confirmed that Dhaka skipper Mashrafe Mortaza needed 14 stitches.
Dhaka lock horns with Chattogram in an eliminator fixture on Monday with Mashrafe Mortaza uncertain for the match and the rest of the tourney.
