Mashrafe set to join ODI squad

Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s participation in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Windies was under the cloud of uncertainty as his wife has been physically sick for a while. However, his ailing wife’s physical condition has improved now and Mashrafe will leave for the Caribbean tonight. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ উইন্ডিজ যাচ্ছেন মাশরাফি] 

”Mashrafe is expected to leave tonight,” chief selector Minhajul Abedin was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz on Monday. ‘‘Apparently, his wife’s condition is quite stable at present that prompted him to join the squad,’‘ he added.

Earlier,  other five members of the ODI squad who were not part of the Test team left the country on July 13.

Meanwhile, Nannu praised the leadership ability of the 34-year old cricketer. “He has got great leadership skills and it can play a big part in transforming the mindset of the team,” he said.

The chief selector also believes  Mashrafe’s presence in the dressing room will bring a positive impact on the team. ”Naturally, his presence will have a big impact on the morale of the team,” he concluded.
