It is quite known to all that according to the statistics, Chandika Hathurusingha is the most successful coach of Bangladesh. Though the coach asked for resignation, BCB will still try to keep him.
It came as a suprise to everyone when Hathurusingha sent letter to BCB for resignation including Bangladesh’s ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. He said, he wasn’t aware to the fact that the coach might want to resign after the tour.
During a press conference on Saturday, the skipper said: “I was there for two weeks. I had good conversations with him in those time. We were try to win at least one match in that time. He didn’t talk anything with me about quitting the job.”
Mashrafe also said that that he doesn’t want to talk about these now: “The Board might talk with him. That’s why its hard to talk about this now. I don’t know anything. Before him, Jamie Siddons and Dave Whatmore was also successful. Its hard to tell when and who will become successful.”
When asked who might might be the next coach, Mashrafe said: “If he doesn’t stay, I don’t know the options. It is hard to say now. Once the coach confirms his resignation, then we can know about the options. When BCB will say, then we will try to say something.”
