Bangladesh played their last ODI against India on the ICC Champions Trophy; Bangladesh lost that match and was dropped from the tournament.
For that reason, the ODI skipper and one the best pacers of the country Mashrafe Bin Mortaza hasn’t been able to come down to the field for any sort of cricket match. That is why he engaged himself with the first match of his own district Khulna division in the National Cricket League this year.
Though Bangladesh played a two match Test match series against Australia this month, Mashrafe was just a mere spectator as he retired from white jersey long ago due to his back to back knee injuries.
As a result, the Narail express has chosen the NCL as a medium to get back to cricket before the very crucial SA series.
“It has been long since I last played a match. For this I decided to play NCL to play some good cricket.” said Mashrafe.
After 10th Octobe,r the ODI campaign will begin for Bangladesh in South Africa. Thus there is no rush for Mashrafe to finish the NCL and join his team. But the question arises that how many matched will he play this season?
Mashrafe answered that he hasn’t thought about the other matches and now his focus is just on the first match.
On 15th of this month, his side Khulna will take on Rangpur to begin the 19th NCL.
