Mashrafe wants leggy Jubair in team
Although Bangladeshi leg spinner Jubair Hossain Likhon has not got any chance to play a competitive cricket match in the last 6 months, Tigers ODI skipper wants him in the camp ahead of West Indies tour later this year. It is unlikely for Jubair to be included in the 31-man preliminary Bangladesh as chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu hinted so but he is expected to be in the camp for bowling practice after Mashrafe Bin Mortaza expressed his interest about Jubair.
“Every team has a leg spinner. Our team is still incomplete without a leg spinner. Jubair has experience of playing Test cricket. Also he has been working hard for the past two months. He has improved his fitness by working with his coach. So if bowls in the practice session, we would be able to get a clear idea about his current condition. That’s why I wanted him in the camp,” Mashrafe was quoted as saying in The Daily Prothomalo.
Jubair who made his international debut back in 2014 against Zimbabwe, has so far played 6 Tests and picked up 16 wickets with a fifer. On the other hand, he also has played 3 ODIs and a Twenty20 international.
