OUT! Caught. Pat Cummins to Chris Woakes. Off cutter short, outside off stump on the back foot Fended, Spliced to second slip, by Smith. There it is! Cummins rolls his fingers across it as he fires it into the surface. The ball grips, holds up, and Woakes doesn't know what to do with it. He ends up poking the bat at the ball, and chips it into the hands of second slip.Australia have done a thoroughly professional job today, and sealed the victory with ease. A massive win for the visitors, who go 1-0 up in the series. Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon combined to run through the England batting line up, with no one in particular contributing massively for the home side. All of this wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for one paritcular man, though. Steve Smith with two sensational hundreds set up the game for the Aussies. He was the star performer across the five days. Worrying signs for England, who seem very tired, and there is still four matches left to go!The teams head to Lord's for the second Test, which begins next Wednesday. Will Australia extend their lead? Or can England level it up?

OUT! Bowled. Stuart Broad to Steven Smith. Length ball, outside off stump moves in front Slog, missed to. Smith misses with a big heave, is bowled, and immediately turns and runs off the field. Australia will have ten minutes or so to try and steal a wicket or two before the close of play. What an innings from the former captain in his first game back in whites. He's scored over half of the runs his team made and single-handedly carried them into a competitive position in this match. The pitch is still offering a fair bit and life in the middle will be tough for England's opening batsmen. Will they send out a nightwatchman?

FOUR! Stuart Broad to Steven Smith. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot flick, well timed in the air under control past fine leg for 4 runs. Whipped away behind square again by Smith. That's exactly the right place to target, you're only allowed two fielders behind square on the legside and the boundaries are obviously shorter too behind square.

FOUR! Stuart Broad to Steven Smith. Length ball, off stump moves in front Slog, well timed in the air under control past fine leg for 4 runs. Hammered away behind square and Smith finds the gap. He has managed to get Australia into a good position here. I'm not sure how keen England's openers will be to bat for a few overs tonight.

FOUR! Chris Woakes to Steven Smith. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, in the air under control past long on for 4 runs. Steve Smith has flipped this game on its head over the past couple of hours. He continues to cash in here as he clubs another boundary over mid-on's head.

FOUR! Ben Stokes to Steven Smith. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Welcome back to Test cricket Steve Smith. That is a very impressive innings on a day where he alone has stood tall and produced for his side. Conditions have been bowler friendly but he's barely made a mistake, playing each ball on its merits. An emotional celebration after a lovely drive through the covers takes him to three figures.

OUT! Caught. Moeen Ali to Peter Siddle. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, inside edge in the air uncontrolled to short leg, by Buttler. That's a sharp chance at short leg and very well taken by Jos Buttler. Moeen Ali is back on and he's got that ball to grip. Siddle pushed forward and the ball went straight off his inside edge to Buttler who reacted well to wrap his hands around the ball. Finally England break this partnership.

FOUR! Ben Stokes to Peter Siddle. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, well timed past third man for 4 runs. Very well played by Siddle. There are three slips but no third man and Siddle deliberately guided the ball into the gap behind square on the offside, using the pace of the delivery to take the ball away to the boundary.

FOUR! Ben Stokes to Steven Smith. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air under control past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. I like how Steve Smith plays the pull shot. With there being no really threatening pace or bounce in England's bowling attack on this surface Smith has all the time in the world just to paddle the ball behind square and into the gap. No danger in that shot at all.

FOUR! Ben Stokes to Steven Smith. Back of a length, middle stump on the back foot glancing, in the air under control past fine leg for 4 runs. Well England have had a leg slip in at times today for exactly that sort of shot. Smith gets so far across he tends to glance the ball fine down the legside at times. That was just out of Bairstow's reach and runs quickly away for four.

OUT! L.B.W. Ben Stokes to Pat Cummins. In-swinging length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Leave, hit pad to. That must be close, given by Aleem Dar. Mind you today that doesn't necessarily mean that it's out based on today's events! Stokes set Cummins up for that one. He'd bowled consistently outside off stump but this time it was the inswinger. Cummins had his bat above his head but the ball was going on to hit off stump.

OUT! L.B.W. Stuart Broad to James Pattinson. Seaming in length ball, outside off stump on the front foot working, hit pad to. Two in the over for Broad, he has four now. Again round the wicket to the left-hander and he gets him LBW. A bit of nip back in with Pattinson trying to work the ball legside. No complaints from Pattinson but looking at Hawk-Eye as with Warner's dismissal the ball was missing leg stump. The umpires have not had a good day today.

OUT! Caught. Stuart Broad to Tim Paine. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air uncontrolled to deep square leg, by Burns. Tim Paine what have you done? Broad has his hands over his mouth as he can't quite believe it either. A rare short ball from Broad and it wasn't that threatening. Paine took on the pull and struck it well but in the air and straight down the throat of Rory Burns. England are right on top here.

OUT! L.B.W. Chris Woakes to Matthew Wade. In-swinging length ball, middle stump on the front foot working, hit pad to. Big shape back in from Woakes, a big appeal, but nothing from Joel Wilson. Well that ball swung a long way out of nowhere. Was there an inside edge? We'll find out as we have yet another review. Paine was perhaps too far across but the shape made his shot look worse than it was. Pitching in line and hitting plenty of middle and off, great stuff from Woakes.

FOUR! Stuart Broad to Steven Smith. Seaming away length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, outside edge past third man for 4 runs. OUT! L.B.W. Chris Woakes to Travis Head. Seaming in length ball, to leg on the back foot working, hit pad to. That's thumped into the pads and up goes the finger. Head was caught on the crease, going back to a ball that nipped back in off the pitch. Head chats with his captain until the clock has almost run down then decides to review. There's no bat, the ball beats the inside edge and it's three reds on Hawk-Eye.

FOUR! Moeen Ali to Travis Head. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, thick edge past third man for 4 runs. Head got himself into a bit of a mess there. Good length from Moeen and he wasn't sure whether to play forward or back. The ball came off the edge but it went down and wide of slip and Head gets four streaky runs.

FOUR! Ben Stokes to Travis Head. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Banged in short and pulled right out of the middle of the bat. There's not loads of pace and bounce in this surface and I don't think the short ball will play a huge part in this game.

OUT! Caught. Chris Woakes to Usman Khawaja. Seaming away length ball, middle stump on the front foot defending, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to wicketkeeper, by Bairstow. That sounded like a nick and it's taken by Bairstow. Lovely bowling from Chris Woakes moving the ball across the left-hander just enough. Well England are convinced but Joel Wilson is unmoved. They decide unanimously to use a review. There's a crisp, sharp spike on UltraEdge and Australia are three down.

OUT! Caught. Stuart Broad to Cameron Bancroft. Seaming away back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, outside edge in the air uncontrolled to first slip, by Root. Edged and it carries to Joe Root low down at first slip. Broad has two as England make an excellent start to this match. Movement away off the surface from Broad and Bancroft pushed hard at the ball which proved his downfall. He could easily have left that delivery. Good thinking from Broad to get Bancroft onto the back foot after the half volley the previous ball.

OUT! L.B.W. Stuart Broad to David Warner. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, hit pad to. England like this one even more and so does Aleem Dar! Up goes the finger and there's no challenge from Warner. It was full and Warner played outside the line of the ball with it angling in from round the wicket and it thudded into the pads. Great start for England. Warner isn't going to be happy when he sees the replay, we've just seen Hawk-Eye and it was going down leg on the angle from Broad. The second bit of luck goes England's way.

OUT! Caught. Nathan Lyon to James Anderson. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to silly mid on, by Cummins. Spooned tamely and that is a simple chance for Cummins to end the innings and the session. Really useful runs for England down the order, Woakes and Broad helping them to a lead of 90. Australia's colossal stint in the field has finally come to an end, their four main bowlers will be happy for the opportunity to get some rest as we reach the tea break on Day Three. Wickets tumbled in the morning session but they found it much tougher this afternoon with the pitch really looking devoid of all life. Moeen Ali will certainly be a threat for England this evening and it will be interesting to see what part James Anderson plays after seeming to struggle running between the wickets in that partnership with Chris Woakes. The tourists will need someone in the top order to stick with Steve Smith if they are to set a challenging target.

OUT! Caught. Nathan Lyon to Rory Burns. Off break length ball, off stump on the front foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Paine. What a beauty, it was always going to take something special to end this mammoth innings from Burns and Lyon has produced it. That will delight Nathan Lyon, though, who gets to have a bowl on this pitch on the last day. The perfect delivery from an off spinner to a right hander. Fizzed into the rough, ripped back through the gate, and it clatters into the off stump. Not much Paine can do about that.

OUT! Caught. Ben Stokes to Matthew Wade. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air uncontrolled to deep backward square leg, by Denly. Picks out the man perfectly in the deep! This bouncer doesn't get up very high at all, and Wade strikes it pretty cleanly as well. Hit flat and hard, but Denly doesn't have to move. Snaffled right on the boundary edge. Not a lot of celebrations from England. Wade is a bit miffed, but he walks off after a wonderful century.

OUT! Caught. Nathan Lyon to Joe Denly. Off break length ball, middle stump on the front foot flick, bat-pad to short leg, by Bancroft. Lyon strikes again! Denly is a little tentative on this delivery. It's whizzed down on a perfect line and length, Denly looks to tuck it through the onside, but gets a thin inside edge on it. The ball pops up off the pad, and it lobs into the hands of short leg for a simple grab.

FOUR! Nathan Lyon to Joe Denly. Off break half volley, outside off stump on the front foot sweeping, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. He goes again! Fetched from way outside off, but he is going with the turn, so there isn't a huge amount of risk. Hoicked away for four more.

FOUR! Nathan Lyon to Joe Denly. Off break half volley, outside off stump on the front foot sweeping, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Men crowded around the bat, so Denly goes positive. Got the length to sweep, and executes well. Swatted away in front of square for four.

OUT! Bowled. Nathan Lyon to Jason Roy. Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track Slog, missed to. A brain fade from Roy. Suddenly he comes charging down to Lyon, and attempts to hack him over cow corner with the turn. Doesn't get anywhere near the pitch, and it rags back through a huge gate to clatter into the stumps. An ugly way to go. Australia keep chipping away.

FOUR! Peter Siddle to Joe Root. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, thick edge past third man for 4 runs. A controlled edge this time from Root. Played with soft hands, and the ball runs along the turf wide of the two slips in place. No third man to prevent the boundary.

FOUR! Nathan Lyon to Jason Roy. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot sweeping, well timed past deep backward square leg for 4 runs. Roy likes to take the aggressive approach against the spin. Reaches out to the pitch, and swipes it away powerfully to the backward square boundary.

FOUR! Peter Siddle to Jason Roy. Seaming away length ball, outside off stump no foot movement defending, outside edge past third man for 4 runs. Beauty from Siddle. Angled in from out wide, nipped away off the surface, and it squares Roy up. The ball flicks the outside edge, but Paine was wrongfooted, and couldn't stop the dying edge with the dive.

FOUR! Pat Cummins to Jason Roy. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Overpitched, Roy lunges forward, and sweetly drives through the vacant cover region for four. He won't miss out on them.

FOUR! James Pattinson to Jason Roy. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Check-drive from Roy. Not a lot of follow-through in the shot at all. Just a firm punch through the covers to send it scurrying away for his first boundary.

FOUR! Pat Cummins to Joe Root. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past long off for 4 runs. A tempter from Cummins to suck Root into the drive, and the England captain obliges. Not struck as cleanly as he would've liked, but solid enough to send it trickling through mid off for four.

FOUR! James Pattinson to Joe Root. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, well timed past deep point for 4 runs. Seen that many times over the years. Textbook Joe Root. Stands tall to get on top of the bounce, and punches it off the back foot in front of point.

OUT! Caught. Pat Cummins to Rory Burns. Seaming away back of a length, down leg side on the back foot Fended, Spliced to point, by Lyon. Australia strike early! A snorter from Pat Cummins. Burns is in two minds whether to stand up and play, or sway out of the way. In the end he gets stuck, and jabs the hands at it. The ball balloons up off the shoulder of the bat, and loops into the hands for a simple grab.

FOUR! Pat Cummins to Rory Burns. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. What a lovely start to the morning for Rory Burns. He eases forward, and a firm prod skips away past a wide mid off. Outfield is too quick to chase that down!
