Match officials for Bangladesh T20Is announced


International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed one of the most senior members of the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees, Ranjan Madugalle as match referee for the three T20Is between Pakistan and Bangladesh to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium on 24, 25 and 27 January respectively.

The significant portion is this will be the first time Madugalle will referee in a T20I series in Pakistan. The 60-year old previously officiated in 15 Tests stretched over five series in Pakistan while he took over in 20 ODIs in the country as well.

Overall Madugalle have had the experience of refereeing in 102 T20Is.

The Sri Lankan borne has been the latest inclusion in Pakistan series after David Boon (for West Indies T20Is, Sri Lanka ODIs and T20Is), Jeff Crowe (for 1st Sri Lanka Test), Andy Pycroft (for 2nd Sri Lanka Test) and Richie Richardson (for World XI).

For this particular series, field umpires will be from the host country. The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Ahsan Raza and Shozab Raza. Ahmed Shahab will stand as third umpire while Tariq Rasheed will be the fourth umpire for the three matches.

Umpires and match referee appointments for T20Is:

24 January – 1st T20I, Lahore (2pm-515pm. Ahsan Raza and Shozab Raza (on-field), Ahmed Shahab (third umpire), Tariq Rasheed (fourth umpire). Ranjan Madugalle (match referee).

25 January – 2nd T20I, Lahore (2pm-515pm. Ahsan Raza and Shozab Raza (on-field), Ahmed Shahab (third umpire), Tariq Rasheed (fourth umpire). Ranjan Madugalle (match referee).

27 January – 3rd T20I, Lahore (2pm-515pm. Ahsan Raza and Shozab Raza (on-field), Ahmed Shahab (third umpire), Tariq Rasheed (fourth umpire). Ranjan Madugalle (match referee).
