McKenzie explains working areas for Tigers to McMillan
While Bangladesh team was preparing for their scheduled away series against Sri Lanka, Batting consultant Neil McKenzie had quit his role as Bangladesh head coach. He was replaced by Craig McMillan. Hence, McKenzie explained the type of care McMillan need to take as he didn’t have much time before the series started.
Mackenzie was appointed as the batting coach of the Bangladesh team for the short format back in 2016. Although, The Bangladesh Cricket Board had contract with the former South African cricketer in white ball, he was also seen working as a head coach in the longer format too. It was anticipated that he would do the same job in Sri Lanka tour as BCB wanted him as part of the Test squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
But McKenzie has sent his consent to BCB that he will no longer be in charge after his contract with the board expires. After his resignation, BCB has appointed former New Zealand head coach Craig McMillan as the new head coach for the Tigers.
As Macmillan didn’t worked with Tigers before , he had a meeting with the former coach Mackenzie to understand the working area so that he would not have any problem working with Bangladesh players. After the meeting with two coaches , chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu told the media:
” The meeting has just ended. He explained the working area very well to the new batting coach about the players of Bangladesh.
