Mehidy Hasan to achieve new milestone in Zimbabwe Test
Zimbabwe cricket team arrive in Bangladesh to play a full-series. Bangladesh will play a Test match against Zimbabwe on February 22 next. Mehidy Hasan, the off-spin all-rounder, stands in front of a great milestone ahead of the match.
If Mehidy can take 10 wickets in the two innings against Zimbabwe, then he’ll be the fourth Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 wickets in their history. Although the task is difficult, it is not impossible for him at all.
The off-spinner is now the owner of 90 wickets in 22 Tests at an average of 33.12 and a 3.37 economy rate. However, it will be known whether Mehidy will play in a Test match against Zimbabwe after Sunday’s announcement.
Former Bangladesh spinner Mohammad Rafique is at number three ahead of Mehidy. Rafique, who played in international cricket till 2008, took 100 wickets in 33 matches at an average of 40.76 and economy rate of 2.79.
Another spinner, Taijul Islam, is at number two on the list of highest wicket-takers in the Test for Bangladesh. He has taken 108 wickets in 48 matches. Where he has a bowling average of 33.46 and an economy rate of 3.21.
At the top of the list is Shakib Al Hasan, the best all-rounder in the country. Shakib, who was banned by the ICC, took 208 wickets at an average of 31.12 in 56 matches and a 3.01 economy rate.
