MI bowler reveals promise he made to late Sushant

Bollywood young actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden death has left Bollywood and cricket world speechless. He became popular in the cricket world by playing the role of MS Dhoni in Dhoni’s Biopic. Previously, He played the role of a coach in his debut Bollywood movie ‘Kai Po Che’ in 2013.

In the movie ‘Kai Po Che’ Sushant trained a talented young boy Ali. The role of Ali was played by Digvijay Deshmukh who is now a real-life cricketer and set to play for Mumbai Indians if IPL happens this year. He has been picked as the fast bowler in 2020 Auction for his base price 20 Lakh rupees by Mumbai Indians.

The death of Sushant, who played alongside him in ‘Kai Po Che’, has made Digvijay Deshmukh shocked. He has revealed that he build a sweet bond with the late actor while the shooting of the movie was going on.



“He was passionate about cricket. On the last day of shoot, I had promised him I’d not meet him till I became a decent level cricketer. This year, when I got selected to play for Mumbai Indians, I decided to meet him but then the lockdown happened and now he is no more,” Digvijay Deshmukh told.


The 22-year old cursed the global pandemic for not meeting with the late actor.


“I wish the lockdown wouldn’t have been there, at least then I would have been able to fulfill the promise I made to him. I failed to do so.”


Digvijay Deshmukh couldn’t meet Sushant after the first movie. Though he had an opportunity to meet him when Sushant visited his city Pune for a shooting schedule of ‘MS Dhoni -The Untold Story’ movie. But as he promised Sushant he would meet him after becoming a cricketer that’s why he didn’t meet him.


“Even then I did not meet him because I wanted to keep the promise. I regret it,” he says.
