Middlesex to sign Kiwis batsman Ross Taylor
In the latest development, Middlesex has expressed their interest to recruit the services of New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor as an overseas player for the second half of their forthcoming Royal London One-Day Cup competition.
The team boasts a pretty good line-up having AB de Villiers to bolster the batting department and Mujeeb Ur-Rahman turning up for Vitality Blast competition, Middlesex will be without the services of the overseas player for the County Championship.
Game on for Middlesex
Middlesex will spark competition away to Northamptonshire on Friday. Barring a back injury to the all-rounder Martin Andersson, the team has all the bases covered to take on the opposition in their next game.
They are set to lose Eoin Morgan and Paul Stirling as international duty calls them in the latter half of the 50-over competition and which is why they have decided to sign Taylor who has a wide range of experience.
It’s no doubt that Ross Taylor is in the form of his life, especially in the white-ball cricket. He is also ranked third in the ICC’s ODI batsmen rankings and averages 48.34 in the format, which also goes to show that he can be a key batsman for the team. Interestingly, Taylor has earlier had spells with Sussex and Nottinghamshire in the county game.
