‘Miraz’s batting added strength in the team’, says Mashrafe
Whoever kept in touch with Bangladesh cricket, must have heard the name of Mehedi Hasan Miraz long before he has been inaugurated in Bangladesh national team. A successful campaigner in the age group teams, Miraz’s skill is flourishing in international cricket as well.
In the third and final ODI match of the series against Sri Lanka, which was also the third ODI match in his career, Mehedi Hasan Miraz scored his first one day international half century in times of dire need.
Ushering high appreciation for the youngster, Tiger skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza deemed it as the added strength in the team; he said, “Miraz scored the first fifty of his ODI career. This will be a great happening both for him and for Bangladesh team. When a batsman could score a fifty batting at number eight, it added much strength in the team.”
The 51 run knock of Miraz shortened the margin of defeat for Bangladesh which, at some stage, seemed to be big one. Striking 6 shots of four, the 19 year old played 71 deliveries to score 51.
On his Test debut, Mehedi Hasan Miraz stirred the cricket world with his breathtaking spin, capturing 19 wickets in a Test series against England consisting of two matches.
