Following the big achievement, Bangladesh all-rounder Rumana Ahmed endued that Bangladesh, through their performance, have able to capture the earnest attention of strong opponent like India.

Mithali Raj, the iconic Indian cricketer heaped praises for Bangladesh cricketers in an occasion. As quoted by Rumana Ahmed, Mithali delivered striking appreciations for Bangladesh.

“There were two dinner parties and in that, half of Mithali Raj’s speeches were adorned with praises for Bangladesh,” Rumana said.

Rumana said the improvement of Bangladesh’s cricket has surprised them much. “Our progress and success really surprised them. Mithali admitted even before the final that Bangladesh improved a lot.”

“After coming from the South Africa tour, the Asia Cup was not that tough for us, because here, we played inside Asia. We were hopeful of playing well in Malaysia. The condition has been much favorable for us in here, we have done a very good job,” Rumana said.

“For us, this success was greatly important. For the first time, we played in the final of a big tournament and we defeated India. To be honest we did not aspire to be the champion but we targeted playing in the final. The way we turned around after the first defeat is a sign of being matured enough,” Rumana said.
