Mixed Gender T20 match to take place after World Cup

Over the years, the game of cricket has lived up to its reputation by entertaining the fans at the best scene. A long ago, there were only one or two formats but today, the fans get a visual treat to watch different formats of the game.

However, in the latest development, the fans will get to witness a new cricket version in the times to come. In a first, a mixed gender T20 exhibition match is on the cards.

The match is scheduled to take place after the World Cup in England & Wales in July.

Mixed T20 match features Virat Kohli and Mithali Raj

Interestingly, it has already confirmed four main participants featuring India men’s captain Virat Kohli, women’s ODI skipper Mithali Raj, women’s T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur and batswoman Veda Krishnamurthy.

A signficant campaign backed by Royal Challengers Bangalore, it’s highly expected that all players contracted to the franchise could also be available for the match. Harmanpreet Kaur also posted a video promo on her Twitter handle.

Working towards spreading the message of equality, the caption reads, “if the world needs to get equal, the bold need to get started.”

An energy drink, which initiated this campaign, is now looking at online votes before getting the match organised.
