Mohammad Hafeez to miss one-off T20I, first two ODIs against England

Mohammad Hafeez will be unavailable for Pakistan’s T20 and first two One Day Internationals (ODI) against England prior to the World Cup.

Hafeez who is selected in Pakistan’s 15-member squad for ICC Cricket World Cup, has been recovering from the head injury sustained during the Pakistan Super League.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director Media Samiul Hasan Burney informed Geo News that the 38 year old veteran could be available in the national side from the third ODI against England in Bristol on May 14.

However, head coach Mickey Arthur has stated to not to rule him out of the last three ODIs.

“He [Hafeez] has bowled and he has fielded. Hafeez is ahead of where we want him and that’s great news. He has been doing a lot of work so don’t rule out Hafeez in the one-day series,” added the South African.

Hafeez has been the most in-form batsman for the Pakistan side in the calendar year.

In the five match One Day International series against South Africa, he averaged 49.66 including two  knocks of half centuries.
