But Tiger captain Mominul Haque did not want this young spinner to be flooded with praise.

Bangladesh had won by an innings and 106 runs in the only Test against Zimbabwe in Mirpur. Young spinner Nayeem Hasan had played a vital role in the relief of almost a year and a half after losing six Tests. Everyone had been naturally floating in praise of him.

While Nayeem’s praise had been running around, Mominul thought it had been his duty to keep the young teammate cheerful.

So after the match on Tuesday (February 25), Mominul said, “I will make a request to all of you, it will be good if you keep this request. Nayeem has just started his career, there is still a lot left. He bowled very well, MashaAllah. Hope he’ll do better. I don’t want to say too much about it. He has a lot to do. Slowly he will improve. The beginning of international cricket does not give a hint about all things. I think he needs to improve.”
