Mosaddek Hossain achieves rare feat in Debut test

Debutant Mosaddek played key role on Bangladesh to go pass 450 plus runs in their first innings at Colombo against host Sri Lanka.

He scored a patient knock of 75 runs from 155 balls in the first innings of the match which is also the hundredth Test of the Bangladesh. Mosaddek striked seven fours and two sixes in the innings.

This knock has also slammed his name in record books. Mosaddek Hossain Saikat now also holds two rare records in Test cricket.

Firstly he has became the only thirteenth cricketer to score fifty in debut match. Secondly he is also the only second batsman to score fifty in the hundredth test of his nation in his debut match!

Earlier, Jack Sharp of England was the only batsman to do so in the history of Test cricket. The English batsman played a vital knock of 61 runs under pressure in the memorable match of his team.

Bangladesh cricketer has also surpassed Jack in a way by scoring most runs in debut during the hundredth Test. The English batsman scored 61 and 11 runs respectively in two innings of the match. Whereas Saikat has already scored 75 runs in the first innings and will get the chance to score more in the next.

There was rarely much hype regarding his beginning in Test cricket as the 21 year old has been in demand of the experts for his excellent performance in domestic cricket. Instead the former cricketers often advise to stick with experience in the format.

But it was not same in case of this young star who had shown his class in first class cricket during last two years scoring couple pf double hundreds early in his domestic career.
