All-rounder Mosaddek Hossain has been added to Bangladesh Test squad that will take on Sri Lanka in the first of two Tests next month.
Mosaddek has been in rich vain for form recently having finished as the third-highest run-getter in the List A tournament Dhaka Premier League, where he made 658 runs at an average of 47 in 15 matches. He also picked up 16 wickets with his off-breaks.
The 26-year-old averages 41 in only three Tests he has played so far - with the last being in September when Afghanistan famously beat Bangladesh in Chattogram. His last first-class outing was in mid-December last year when he scored a fifty for Central Zone against North Zone in the Bangladesh Cricket League.
Mosaddek's inclusion extends Bangladesh's squad to 17 players. Pacer Shoriful Islam's availability depends on his fitness while the hosts will miss the services of key all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the first Test in Chattogram; Nayeem Hasan has been named as his replacement.
The two-match World Test Championship series will kick off on May 11.
