Mosaddek Hossain cherishes to play in the World Cup
Bangladesh all-rounder Mossadek Hossain said he is hoping to have a place in the World Cup squad.
In the pick of his career, an unfortunate eye infection threw him out of action before the two match Test series against South Africa in February 2017.
His recent performance in the Dhaka Premier League caught the attention of the selectors and hence the mega ICC event is knocking on the door, the 23 year old all-rounder is carrying high hopes to accomplish a World Cup dream.
“When someone keeps performing, he feels satisfied but the main satisfaction will come when my dream will come true, which is get into the WC squad,”
Mossadek told reporters on Wednesday as quoted by Cricbuzz.
“Hopefully my dream will come true. Now my job is to focus on my performance and I’m doing that,” he said.
Hailed from Mymensingh, Mosaddek Hossain made his limited over debut in 2016 and Test in 2017. He scored 341 runs appearing in 20 ODI innings in an average of 31.
Saying that playing well remain his primary focus for now, Mosaddek said it is inspiring to know that he is under consideration for the World Cup.
“It is inspiring. But first, the team has to be announced, till then I have to keep on performing. I don’t know what’s going to happen,” Mosaddek Hossain said.
“But it is inspiring, they are keeping eye on me,” the all-rounder added further.
“I played as a finisher from every match I played at the international level. Yes, I got some success and some failure as well,” Mossadek said.
He said he knows his job is to finish the game, “and I’m working on my finishing ability in the premier league.”
