Young all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat could be sent to Thailand for better eye treatment if the condition will not improve within two weeks. According to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical office, physicians are observing Mosaddek’s eye condition closely and will wait for around fourteen days before taking further decision. BCB medical office reported, “Mosaddek has a viral infection in the cornea of left eye. If we will fail to see significant improvement within several weeks, we will suggest him to send to Thailand for better treatment.”
Reports also said, “This type of infection takes time to cure no matter where you treat the patient. In some cases it can even take six months or so but hopefully Mosaddek’s condition is improving.”
Mosaddek Hossain told he is following suggestions of doctors ardently, “I’m taking rest and doing whatever they have told me to do. The rest of the decisions will be taken by doctors.”
The next sixth months is a vital time for Bangladesh cricket. The Tigers will tour South Africa after the home series against Australia. The rising all-rounder’s condition is threatening him to miss the whole tour as well as the second Test against Australia.
The 21 year old had been selected in the squad for the first Test against Australia but later he was replaced by Mominul Haque under deteriorating eye condition.
