Mumbai Indians beat KKR in comeback match
Mumbai Indians has picked a tremendous comeback victory against mighty Kolkata Knight Riders in match no five of IPL 2020. Mumbai Indians put a huge target of 195 runs for the KKR. While chasing a big total, the Dinesh Kartik led side managed to score only 146 runs and Mumbai Indians picked a victory of 49 runs.
Mumbai Indians lost their opening match against Chennai Super kings at the very first of 13th edition of Indian premier League IPL. Hence they started well, although they lost Quinton de Kock at the early phase of the innings. But it was skipper Rohit Sharma along with youngster Suryakumar Yadav who put a big total on the board as Rohit scored 80 off 54 balls and Suryakumar scored 47 off 27 deliveries. Tiwary, Pollard and Pandya’s cameo made it 195 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
While chasing a big total of 195, KKR stumbled as they lost their opening pair who couldn’t surpassed double figures. Skipper Karthik and Rana tried some resistance but both of them got out before the team could pass half of the target as Karthik scored 30 runs 23 balls and Rana scored 23 off 18 balls. Morgan and Russell failed to bring the match as they also departed early.
At the end, Pat Cummings played a beautiful knock of 33 runs from just 12 balls. But they managed to reach 146 for nine wickets in 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult both took 2 wickets in four overs slot. On the other hand, Shivam Mavi from KKR picked two wickets for the Rider’s.
