Virat Kohli shattered the record book once again to become the fastest batsman to score 10,000 limited over runs.

Kohli is all set to become 5th Indian and 13th batsman overall to rack up 10,000 ODI runs.

He was just 81 runs short of the target prior to the second ODI against West Indies on Wednesday in Vishakhapatnam and the 29 year old Indian skipper rushed straight into the record book pages scribbling his name to be the fastest batsman to cross the landmark.

He thus surpassed little master Sachin Tendulkar and went on to score his 37th ODI hundred, ended up making 157 not out. He hit 13 boundaries and four sixes,

Following the heroics of Kohli, Mumbai Police came up with an entertaining way of congratulating the Indian captain.

“No over-speeding challan here, just accolades & best wishes for more @imVkohli ! Many congratulations on your amazing feat!,” read a tweet posted on Mumbai Police’s official Twitter handle.

The current Indian captain needed 205 matches to overshadow master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who took 259 innings to reach into the milestone.

He became the 13th cricketer to reach 10,000 runs.

With the Windies chasing 322 to win, Hope scored an unbeaten 123 off 134 balls to sour Virat Kohli’s momentous day. The visitors needed five off the last ball of the match, bowled by Umesh Yadav and the match resulted in tie when West Indies managed a boundary in the last encounter.

India and West Indies is locking horns in a five match one day international series. India are one up in the series winning the first match by 8 wickets.
