Mumbai thrash KKR to confirm IPL final
A dominant Mumbai Indians thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets in the second qualifier of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) to set up summit clash with Rising Pune Supergiant on Sunday in Hyderabad.
Having elected to bowl first, Mumbai Indians bowlers – led by Karn Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, bundled out Kolkata Knight Riders for 107. Karn Sharma picked up four wickets conceding 16 runs while Jasprit Bumrah bagged three important wickets in his tally for only 7 runs.
It was not a start Kolkata Knight Riders would have liked as they lost Chris Lynn within 5 runs and afterwards they kept losing wickets in a regular interval. Suryakumar Yadav’s 31 at the end helped them to post 107 after 20 overs
Chasing an easy target of 108 runs, Rohit Sharma and Krunal Pandya guided Mumbai Indians to a comfortable six- wicket victory with 5.3 overs to spare. Rohit was unbeaten on 26 while Krunal Pandya smashed 45 off 30 balls.
