Mushfiqur made the record on Monday (February 24th) on the third day of the only Test against Zimbabwe.

Tamim’s record as the highest run-scorer in the Test for Bangladesh was long gone. The left-handed opener scored 41 runs in the first innings of Bangladesh. As a result, his runs stood at 4,405.

Mushfiqur, however, went out of the way to reach after hitting his third double century in the same innings. Then Bangladesh declared the innings. As a result, Mushfiq’s Test runs stood at 4,413.

Mushfiqur played 70 matches (130 innings) to overtake Tamim. Tamim, on the other hand, played 60 matches (115 innings) so far. Shakib Al Hasan (56 matches, 105 innings) is third in the list of highest runs with 3,862 runs. Former captain Habibul Bashar, who is in fourth place, has a Test run s of 3,026. Mominul Haque is fifth with 2,860 runs.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh declared the innings with 560 runs for 6 wickets. Zimbabwe scored 265 runs in their first innings. As a result, Bangladesh took lead by 295 runs. Zimbabwe finished the day with 9/2 on the scorecard in their second innings.
