Mustafiz to miss IPL due to No Objection Certificate

Bangladeshi speedster Mustafizur Rahman sets to miss the IPL edition in UAE due to the No Objection letter from the board. Although, the pacer was unsold at the IPL auction back in December 2019, but a multiple franchise has reached him to play in the IPL due to a absence of some prominent Pacers on the cash rich league in the world.

Mustafiz to miss IPL due to No Objection Certificate

Mustafiz has to miss the tournament due to not having a no-objection letter from the BCB. The pacer has been directed to prepare for the upcoming tour of the national team to Sri Lanka where the Tigers will play a three match Test series against Sri Lanka as part of ICC Test Championship.

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be on from September 19. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders will miss Harry Garni due to injury. The team wanted Mustafiz as a substitute of the pacer. Similarly, Mustafiz’s former team Mumbai Indians also wanted to include the Bangladeshi speedster as a replacement of Lasith Malinga. But James pattinson has introduced in the team, As Mustafiz did not respond to the call of IPL.

Mustafiz is also expected to be in the group practice which will start from September 21. That is why the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not give IPL No Objection Certificate (NOC) or no-objection letter to one of the best Pacers in the team currently.

Akram Khan, chairman of the BCB’s cricket operations committee, told Cricbuzz that Mustafiz got an offer to play in the IPL. However, they did not give him NOC due to the tour of Sri Lanka ahead.
