Mustafizur injures toe, given two days rest

On returning from the Indian Premier League, Mustafizur Rahman has joined with the national team for the coming Afghanistan series. But the concerning report shows the existence of a toe injury that left Courtney Walsh being alerted about the condition of the young left arm pacer.

Walsh said the youngster has been provided a couple of days of rest, “At present his big toe is troubling. He is not hundred percent fit. We have given him two days of rest now.”

Hoping Mustafizur, one of the mainstream bowlers of team Bangladesh will regain full fitness before the onset of the coming international assignment, Walsh said, “We want a full blown Mustafizur in India. He has progressed a lot over the time and also regained his strength. I hope, he will manage to bowl with his full pace in the forthcoming series and perform well.”

Played for Mumbai Indians in the just concluded Indian Premier League, 2018, Mustafizur performed simultaneously in first six matches and then dropped for next seven.

Walsh also did not forget to back Rubel Hossain before starting a new assignment. He was under enormous criticisms for failing in the Nidahas Trophy final against India.

“We are all with Rubel; people also should be by his side. Perhaps he is thinking himself responsible for the team’s downplaying. He is one of the best performers in our team. In any unfortunate day, a single bad ball or a single over could turn a match down for a team. It can happen,” Walsh said.
