My mother likes long hair: Anamul
There is nothing more painful than playing consistent cricket for a while, but still failing to make a comeback in the national team. Wicket-keeper batsman Anamul Haque was one of them.
But the batsman has finally made it as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has included him in the 16-man squad for the upcoming tri-nation series. After making a comeback after a long time, Anamul is rightly now in the spotlight.
In a recent interview, he revealed the reason behind not cutting his hair: “My mother likes long hair. Though my father doesn’t like it, I kept long hair because of my mother. Mother said to keep the long hair as I got chance in the national team after a long time.”
Anamul’s mother wants his son to concentrate only in his game: “There is no required to cut the hair. Play your best. Try to do something good for your team. When your mind will say that you should cut the hair, then you will cut.”
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni’s long hair once was also famous and with that long hair he won the T20I World Cup in 2007. When asked if Dhoni is his inspiration, Anamul said: “Nothing like that. If you see my jersey number, then you might think like that. But it is nothing like that. I like it and my mother also likes it, that’s the only reason. My mother said to concentrate only in the game now.”
