Nafees proud to be picked in first call

Veteran Bangladesh opener Shahriar Nafees who played all of the past four seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for Barisal, has been picked by Rangpur Riders in the upcoming season of the tournament.

While talking to the media on Monday, the left-handed revealed his excitement as he said he was excited to get a new team in the tournament. “I am so much excited to get the chance to play for a new team,” Nafees said.

The 32-year old cricketer was picked by Rangpur Riders in the very first call of them in the draft. He added on the same saying, “It’s a matter of pride that they picked me in the first call. I am thankful to the owner of Rangpur Riders.”

Speaking about Rangpur Riders squad Nafees said, “We have a balanced squad and we have such players in our team who are proven as dangerous T-20 players. But nothing can be predicted in this format. We’ll try hard to put up a great show.”

“Every team wants to play for becoming the champion. I think we should concentrate in reaching the top 4 first and then we can call ourselves more successful than the last time although the owner was different in the 4th season,” he concluded.
