Najmul XI started as underdogs in the tournament. However, Najmul’s men’s all-round performance has got them three wins out of four matches. Skipper Najmul is impressed by his team’s players and expects to repeat the same on Sunday.

“Obviously, it’s a great feeling to be in the final and we have been enjoying this whole tournament. Hopefully we will do good in the final as well. The most important part was to be able to play in a tournament after a long time,” Najmul said.

While Najmul is yet to deliver a captain’s knock, he has showered praise on his team members.  Mushfiqur Rahim has scored two fifties and a hundred and is the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Taskin Ahmed and Al-Amin Hossain are among top five wicket-takers list.

“Mushfiq bhai’s innings (103) and Afif’s innings (98) were great positive signs. Tawhid Hridoy and Irfan Shukkur have also been good in this tournament.

“Taskin bhai, Al-Amin bhai, Nasum bhai and Nayeem – all bowled really well. There is a healthy competition among the players and everyone is enjoying it. Overall, there were a lot of positives so far.”

The final match between Najmul XI and Mahmudullah XI was initially scheduled for Friday until Bangladesh Cricket Board decided on Thursday afternoon to reschedule the fixture as Dhaka city has been witnessing persistent showers in the last few days.
