Nannu explains reasons behind Sabbir’s inclusion

Right after the first Test match ended in a draw, Bangladesh made some changes in the squad for the second Test where Sabbir Rahman got an unexpected call up and Sunjamul Islam dropped for an ordinary performance in the first Test.

Pacer Rubel Hossain who was not even in the playing XI in the first Test is dropped too but later it was known that he is dropped for a thigh injury.

Sabbir was not included in the first Test but all of a sudden he has been included in the 2nd Test. Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu has explained the reason behind his inclusion: “We wanted to take an extra batsman, that’s why we included Sabbir. Mirpur’s wicket is quite slow and favors the bowlers more, that’s why.”
