Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah has registered a scintillating performance on his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) debut. Comilla Victorians beat Dhaka Dominators by a big margin of 60 runs because of his outstanding bowling and move up to third place in the points table.
Dhaka won the toss in Mirpur and invited Comilla to bat. Comilla collected 164 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Johnson Charles scored maximum 32 runs for the team, facing 25 balls. Besides, Khushdil Shah scored 30 from 17 balls, captain Imrul Kayes scored 28 runs from 22 balls.
Jaker Ali remained unbeaten with a 20-run cameo from 10 balls. Besides, 20 runs came from Litton Das’ bat. Mohammad Rizwan could not succeed also (3 runs from 7 balls). Captain Nasir Hossain bowled 3 overs and took 2 wickets at the cost of 19 runs for Dhaka.
In reply, Dhaka lost Mizanur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, and Mohammad Mithun for team’s 16 runs. After that, Usman Ghani showed resistance at one end, but no one could settle down at the other end. Nasir's 17 off 15, Ariful Haque's 11 off 15, Al-Amin Hossain's 14 off 14 innings just helped Dhaka to cross the 100-run mark.
In the end, Dhaka lost 9 wickets in 20 overs and scored just 104 runs. Usman Ghani scored a maximum of 33 runs off 34 balls. Naseem took four wickets with his fiery bowling, that too at the cost of just 12 runs in 4 overs. This is the best bowling figure by any pacer on debut in BPL.
