Navdeep Saini and Deepak Chahar to help Team India’s World Cup preparation
The 12th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season is yet in the league stage but the fever among the cricket fans has increased for the World Cup which is scheduled to be held in England and Wales. While a lot of foreign superstars have flown back home from India to prepare for the World Cup, the Indian cricketers will be available throughout the tournament. The Indian team will play their first game against South Africa on June 5 at the World Cup 2019.
Apart from the 15-member squad for the World Cup, the Indian team will take four pacers to get good practice in England ahead of the tournament. Another
reason behind taking these bowlers is to keep injury replacements ready if requires. The four pacers are Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.
Navdeep Saini is one among India’s standbys for the upcoming tournament. While Deepak Chahar and Khaleel Ahmed have been terrific with the ball this season, Avesh Khan is one of the promising fast bowlers.
Both Saini and Chahar, who have been doing well for their respective IPL franchises, wants to help the Indian team at the World Cup.
“I have been given a big responsibility of a net bowler in the World Cup. My aim will be to bowl as fast as possible to Indian players and help them prepare for the World Cup,” Saini said.
“Indian selectors have given me a big duty. I think they have considered me because of the swing. I am ready to bowl my swingers to the Indian batsmen and get them ready for the World Cup,” Chahar said.
