NCL resumes next week

National Cricket League (NCL) is set to resume after the end of Bangladesh Premier League T20. The sixth round of the tournament will kick off from December 20. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ ২০ ডিসেম্বর শুরু হচ্ছে জাতীয় লিগ] 

National players are likely to take part in this round. Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan’s T10 League will end on 17th. It is yet to know whether they will take part in this round.

None of the games will be held at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. In Tier 1, Dhaka Division will take on Khulna Division at BKSP and Barisal Division will face Rangpur Division in Rajshahi. Dhaka Metro-Rajshahi Division and Sylhet Division-Chittagong Division will play in the second Tier in Chittagong and Sylhet.

Khulna are leading the Tier 1 table with 16 points with one victory and four draws. Dhaka Div and Rangpur have 10 points each with all five draws. Barisal are placed fourth with 8 points.

In Tier 2, Rajshahi are seeking promotion as they have 23 points including two wins. Sylhet won one game and have 12 points. Chittagong and Dhaka Metro have 8 points each.

Khulna’s Anamul Haque is leading the run-scorers board with 417 runs at 59.57 from 7 innings including a hundred (216) and a fifty. Anamul and Rangpur’s Naeem Islam are the only players so far to hit double tons.

Rajshahi seamer Farhad Reza tops the bowling chart with 18 wickets at 20.00 in 8 innings without taking any five-fors. Sylhet left-arm spinner Enamul Haque jnr is the only player to take ten wickets in a match.
