The wind of fortune is not going in favor of Bangladesh for past recent days. After home series against Australia, in South Africa number of success is still zero. Various Cricket analyst explained different points, but the actual reason of this bad luck is still unrevealed.
Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim had to hear huge criticism for losing in great margin. Captaincy was the one thing that was questioned most in test series.
Unknown and unstudied field condition was also a factor. Poor bowling and absolute irresponsible batting were reasons as well which ended up losing by 333 runs in first test held at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom and by 254 runs with innings in 2nd test held at Bloemfontein. Cricket fans of Bangladesh have been frustrated at this lose with this huge margin and the very poor performance of Bangladeshi tigers.
It was expected that team Bangladesh without Mashrafe’s captaincy caused this lose which would soon be recovered as soon as he would come. But these expectations were trashed away with the result of first ODI lead by Mashrafe. He took batting first with a plan which could be feasible if the bowlers could do something good. But the plan didn’t work and Bangladesh was smashed by Proteas with a win by 10 wickets. Though Mushi had a ton with moderate amount of runs taken by other batsmen making a decent total of 278, the bowlers just ruined it.
Quinton de Kock cracked an unbeaten total of 168 with the association of Hashim Amla who also had a century. Surprisingly they remained unbeaten throughout the innings and which resulted in a win of 10 wickets. Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain and Mohammad Saifuddin had become very expensive. Though Shakib and Captain Mashrafe tried to check runs but ended up in being defeated as they easily chased these runs.
Team Bangladesh still remained optimistic of the next match but it also resulted in a lose. As usual Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first this time but the peculiar type of field gave a total of 353 runs. Though the outfield condition stayed in favor of bowlers, Proteas had a good total with the highest innings of AB De Villiers. He was accompanied by Amla and De Kock. They also contributed a large number of runs. Though Rubel Hossain could pick up four wickets and Shakib had two, the wheel of runs didn’t stop.
In batting Bangladesh tried to have a decent start but early wickets didn’t let any batsmen take more runs, except Imrul Kayes. After long times he had a half century. Later on, Mushfique tried to contribute but not enough as the others couldn’t perform well. The match ultimately turned into a shameful lose of 104 runs even though individually some of the guests have performed well.
It is assumed that over all team performance was not satisfactory. Some rumor of not synchronization of the coach with the players was heard earlier. But in the field frequent misfielding and catch drops were seen which resulted in a huge total initially. The rest is upto batsmen because it was reported that they didn’t practice in net for sufficient time. All these mistakes when integrated resulted in a nightmare for Bangladesh as they have already lost the series.
Fans of Bangladesh Cricket have been disappointed on these back to back lose. But still to be optimistic, they have a hope remained in mind that at least the last match can bring a good news of a win from South Africa.
Bangladesh has been in a good rhythm in last few years but this nightmares are still there which remind us that a thousand miles more to go.
