No Kohli, No Dhoni in Chawla’s all time best Test XI

Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla picked a surprise XI for all time best Test sauad, on Saturday. Although Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are regarded as the two of the finest player in modern cricket, but they didn’t found their place in chawla’s XI. But another three Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag and Kapil Dev has been picked by the Spinner. Besides, he picked four Australians in his XI, including Hayden, Ponting, Gilchrist and Warne.

Chawla who was one of the promising possibility for the Indian team, was introduced in the team in 2006. But things didn’t went well with him and ultimately he slipped out to be a regular face. But he has become a regular face in Indian premier League (IPL) With his consistent performance. He has now become a seasoned campaigner in the cash rich league. The spinner appeared on an Instagram live session with ‘Cricket Revolt’ as a guest. While the live session was going on, he did a fun segment where he picked his all time best Test XI.


Chawla picked Virender Sehwag and Matthew Hayden as the openers. For the No.3 position he chose Ricky Ponting over Rahul Dravid . He also reasoned for having ponting over Dravid as he preferred having a commanding leader at No.3. unsurprisingly, he picked Sachin Tenndulkar at No.4 position. For No.5, he opted to go for the prolific Brian Lara.


The leg spinner picked Adam Gilchrist as wicket-keeper at No.6. As the all rounder, Kapil Dev occupied the No.7 position. For the next two slots he picked two greats Wasim Akram and Shane Warne. The side was completed by Muttiah Muralitharan at No.10 and Curtly Ambrose at No.11. He has picked Jacques Kallis as the side’s 12th man.
