‘No more biriyani for Pakistani cricketers!’


First thing first for Pakistan’s new head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq, he has strode into the new responsibility with changing the diet and nutrition plans for players in the domestic tournaments and in the national camp.

It has been like an standing order issued from the newly appointed coach that no heavy diet would be available to the players during the domestic season and in the national camp as players as every cricketer will have to attain pick of the fitness to enter into the national team.

“No more Biryani or oil rich red meat meals or sweet dishes for the players now,”

Pakistan journalist Saj Sadiq tweeted saying, “According to reports Misbah-ul-Haq has changed the diet and nutrition plans for players in the domestic tournaments and in the national camp – no more biryani or oil rich red meat meals or sweet dishes for the players now,”

Misbah Ul Haque, is considered as a role model of fitness. He appeared in international cricket till the age of 43.

After his appointment in the dual role, Misbah said, “I have been saying this forever that there is some confusion in the way we are thinking about being defensive and aggressive.”

“I always believed that your strategy is based on the resources you’ve got. Ideally, you obviously try and wish to have resources that you can just dominate and knock out the opposition.

“Being a coach, I will try to build a team that plays aggressively and wins easily. But then at certain times you have to assess the strength of the opponent and make your strategy accordingly,” he added.
