Owais Shah to commentate in Tests against England
Former England batsman Owais Shah, who was the Head Coach of the Dambulla Viiking team in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will return to Sri Lanka, this time as a TV commentator for the two-match Test series beginning on January 14.
The 42-year old Owais Shah has experience of playing 6 Tests, 71 ODIs and 17 T20Is.
According to the sources, the broadcasters have hired the services of few other foreign commentators. The notable among the list are: Mark Butcher (England), who has played 71 Tests and New Zealand’s Simon Doull (32 Tests and 42 ODIs).
In addition to the above, two Sri Lankan commentators- Russel Arnold and Roshan Abeysinghe- will hold the mikes.
England and Sri Lanka will face each other for the first Test on Thursday (January 14) after the series had come to a halt due to coronavirus pandemic last year. After ten months, the series has been scheduled finally despite coronavirus still causing problems.
